Finishing a Pen (Read 473 times)

George Stratton Senior Member Offline WR Rocks! Posts: 322 Gender: Old Delta 12" 46-701 in great condition. Had it about 20+ years and turned 1 part.	Finishing a Pen Oct 31^st, 2018 at 1:55pm Whats the best way to apply CA to a turned wooden pen? I have watched a lot of videos on it but see a lot of different methods used.

I'll try it on the next pen.

You need to or there are always spirited discussion about whether to use CA finish, how to apply CA, which brand(s) of CA to use, . . . Personally I don't like the feel when it's done, no different than a plastic pen. Just my 2 cents

Ed, I certainly understand what you are saying. My first few pens I did a typical wood finish on (friction polish) and I liked them but after I tried the CA/BLO everyone else seemed to prefer the shine of the CA. Just like most of my friends are more impressed with my acrylic pens than my wood ones. It does seem like the CA will be more durable for something that is handled so often.
