Friend just bought a very old planer.. Sears/ Craftsman model 112-23491 and is looking for replacement blades.

Anyone know where to point him?

I haven't found any place so far on line but then I need to get back to work. Cool

Pretty sure that model is/was made by Parks.
You might have better luck looking up 12" Parks blades
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register is a full restore for a Parks, might be helpful

Thanks, Ed..

That's what I was looking for.

I'll send my friend a link to that site and let him get into it. I'm sure they will know where to get new blades or maybe even sharpen the old ones. Smiley

If the machine has blades take one to a local business that sharpens planer blades.  Likely they have bar stock to make new ones.

Just an update..

He got the old blades out and found someone local who will sharpen them.

That link to the manual helped him alot, thanks.

The link to the guy restoring one convinced him to NOT go that route!! Shocked

It can be a bit of an undertaking but the good thing is that it's possible. Those old machines were built like tanks.
