Unsolicited advertisement.
Aug 2nd, 2020 at 10:18am

I know this isn't where I should post to but I just received an unsolicited email wanting me to buy 14000 woodworking plans. I am here to share and receive information with other members of the forum not get advertising from a scam company.

At my age there's no way I'm going to get to use 14,000 woodworking plans anyway! Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register   Smiley

Sadly, its not hard to steal a logo, symbol or jpg from the internet.

All websites that have their logo shown in a tab use the same name for that image (favicon.ico). If I were forced to guess I would assume that a dubious character would use that name along with some html embedded in an email which it would then look into your cache to retrieve the image.

I've been getting garbage emails like that for XK plans for $xx.99 which is actually worth about $1.95 long before I joined this site.
I guess that means: Tag, you're it!

It was about 10 yrs ago I clicked out of curiosity. I was amazed that he was showing an item which he had developed plans for. It was my all wood recumbent trike named Dragonwood. Built without plans. Proud to say it took 2 trophies at Detroit Autorama. I wish he would send me that detailed set of drawings and material list that never was.

look at it this way, most of those plans come from sites that offer them for free! don't waste your money. look for that specific plan you want on the internet, its free to look at the millions of plans out there.

this is what i do. i search for a specific plan or item. i wanted to build hope chests for the girls. plans ranged from free to $30. nothing i liked except for 1, and they wanted $25 for it. i printed out the picture, grabbed pad and pencil and in a couple of hours had working drawings that i built. as i built, i modified the plans for future builds learning as i went along.

do what i did, tell Ted's Woodworking no way.

If I'm looking for something in particular, this is how I do it as well.
