DIY Gilding wax

Does anyone have a recipe for DIY gilding wax that works on textured wood?  I would like a basic recipe that I could add colour or metallics to accent texture

Thanks

Searching the Internet using "how to make gilding wax" returned one video showing an individual melting Johnson Paste Wax in a double boiler and then adding oil based color.  In the video Ronan Japan color was used but the individual said artist oil color tubes from an art supplies store could be used.  I have never done this but was curious.

Another video addressed metallic gilding wax but the demonstrator seemed to be using only the demonstrator's line of products.
