Rockwell belt driven floor lathe
Hello from Delaware
Dec 5th, 2020 at 9:10am

My name is Bob and this is my sort of second beginning. I did a little turning 20 something years ago  but life and work got in the way and my equipment has been gathering dust for a long time. I am retired now and have quite a bit of at home time at the moment. I started reorganizing my shop yesterday to provide access to my lathe and take inventory of what equipment I have. My lathe is an old Rockwell 12" variable speed belt drive with low hours on the motor. Nothing like what they make today but its in good condition. I think I have everything I need to set started without spending much money. I even have a set of cheap chisel shaped objects I once purchased to practice sharpening. As far as what I want to make after I pick up a few skills, I was thinking of an Irish flute and perhaps a few whistles. I think this forum will be a great place to get up to speed.

Welcome from Maine!  (Where we're expecting over a foot of snow today...  Sad)
