Glued up three blanks and did one this evening for a test. Pretty easy to glue and turn. Fun project.

Never thought of that, I like the idea. I intentionally did not put a clapper in my bell. Did not want people swinging it around trying to make it "ring" and dinging up the wood inside.

For anyone going to try one of these ornaments that is 1/8" thick aircraft grade six ply plywood I used. Yes, six ply and 1/8" thick. I build and fly radio controlled aircraft and had it on hand.

I've made my own thin lamination for ornaments in the past. I haven't really seen anyone else use such thin layers. Thumbs Up

Horizon Hobby has five ply but way more money.

The blanks were made with Honduras mahogany. Each blank needs two pieces 3/4" X 3" X 12" and one piece 1/8" X 3" X 12" for the accent piece. 12" is longer than needed but keeps your fingers farther from the saw blade on the last cut.

I really like your finial/s. I am not all that skilled with finials. When I see nicely done ones like yours I keep telling myself I need to practice then get lazy and do not.
