I have been having some sciatic nerve nerve trouble so I thought I would give this a try. I found I can turn a plate while sitting. I have a question for anyone has done one of these. I have the D Way burning tips for the spokes. What do you use to burn the circles. I used arborite

Looks good try to go a little less heat on the burn lines.  As for the circles i either use a piece of firmica or one of those plastic mechanical pencils.  The lead is the right size to fit between the beads.

I use the cheap bic ones that come in a big pack.  Tilt the tip down a little bit to drag the lead and a light touch.  If your doing a plater you can do it off the lathe press the plastic tip into the groove.

Another option is to not burn the circles and just let the bead shadows create the circle lines.

I use Formica samples from the big box store that are free.
