A good example of being able to scale up a project via segmenting.
I like the bowl and I like his lathe as well.

I do not have the capacity to turn something that large in diameter. Even if I did I would be afraid to try. What is the rim speed of a 40" bowl turning say 250 RPM?

Wonder how many boxes of Fruit loops it holds. All the while I watched it I was wondering how he was going to part it off from his waste block and faceplate. What he did do worked out perfectly. A beautiful bowl and neat lathe. Thumbs Up

Well, other than there being screw holes from the face plate in the bottom of the bowl, a nice job.

Too bad he didn't use a little shorter screws or routered a little bit further. A little more planning could have avoided leaving the screw holes showing.
