Nova 1624 DVR wiring issue

So, I picked up a used nova lathe with the after market DVR motor kit.  Somehow during moving it, I damaged the DB 9 connector plug.  Does anyone know the pin wiring order for me to be able to replace the plug?  I cannot find anything online.

There are 9 wires and I can only figure out about 3 from the old plug due to the plug being cast in plastic.

Thank you

If you posted a picture it would help a lot - you are halfway there - identifying that it is a db9 connector is a great step - so it is rs232 type of serial communications connection ? …usually out of those 9 wires as my ex telecom tech experience comes to mind - it may need as less than 3 wires to communicate - transmit , receive and ground usually pins 2 , 3 and 5  but it depends it a male or female connector ? It may require a Null modem - ie the transmit wire and receive wire are reversed as far as the colors to the pins - I would trace those out with a voltmeter

What is the aftermarket controller?

Where does the wiring for that connector go on each end?

Because it's an aftermarket controller, there is no telling what it's for.

Have you tried contacting Nova tech support? What model do you have?  I don't remember which Nova lathe had the dvr kit offered.

One way to proceed maybe.  Cut the wire about 2 inches from the plug  Use a ohm meter to identify which wire goes to which pin.  Then wire the new connector that way.

Maybe if I read the title of the post I would have answered the question in my above response.!!!  Doh!  I hadn't had my coffee yet yesterday. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

The upgrade kit from Nova is a DVR motor and controller board.  I’ve been in contact with them and after they went to their international offices, we have a diagram.  The unit only uses pins 1-5.

So, fingers crossed
