I am 46 years old and live in
Washington
State
. I was born and raised in
Montana
and relocated to
Washington
in 1993. I
graduated from
Montana
State
University
in 1989 with a BS in computer science. Since I needed a job (computer people
were a dime a dozen then), I
started with Albertson’s and have been with them ever since. I am married to a fabulous
lady who is very
supportive of my endeavors. Between
us
we have four kids and four grandkids. In
our grandkids eyes we are “
Nana
& Papa”.
I first became interested in
woodworking in Junior High
woodshop. That is
where I first fell in
love with turning. I
really hadn’t had
the opportunity to pursue woodworking until recently. Between raising kids and working it just
didn’t happen. Then
we bought a new
house in 2005 and it has a garage…or should I say a shop! That’s when I was able to
start assembling my
shop. My first
projects included an
entertainment center for the living room and a china hutch for the
dining room.
In November 2007, I finally got
a lathe: a Jet 1014VSI
with bed extension. I
did turning
projects off and on until May 2008. Then
I did my first segmented bowl and I realized that I had found my true
woodworking niche. I
have been going
strong ever since. I
have learned a lot
and I enjoy exploring new areas. I love
working with different woods and pairing them together to see the
different
results and color combinations. The
possibilities are endless! One
day I
would love to be the proud owner of the Mustard Monster. Unfortunately, I don’t
have the funds or the
space for that right now. So
for the
time being I will continue puttering and learning with the lathe I have.

you. |
