Description}: Mirror frame is from a piece of curry cherry board and measures just over 9 inches. The inlay treatment on this one is red heart and holly. The stand is made from cherry and features inlay of red heart.

Large Red Mallee Bowl

Description}: Bowl was strapped to a board and turned off center twice to give a double basin bowl. The bowl measures 14 by 19 inches by 4 inches deep. The top of the bowl was finished with spray lacquer, no buffing, no wax.

Description}: Platter from a crotch of a wild cherry tree. Pyrography was used to enhance the bark inclusion and checks to make a tree. Platter is 13.5 inches and finished with lacquer.

First attempt at segmenting

Description}: I was impressed by the walls in my visit to Jerusalem last year. My first attempt at segmenting was to replicate the walls by routing the joints and backfilling with wood putty to protray the limestone and mortar. Vase is just under 4 inches by 5.5 inches tall. Made with maple and cherry burl. Idea came from Eli Avisera.

Small Wild Cherry vase

Description}: Vase turned from a piece of wild cherry tree that was downed by a storm last year. Vase is 4 inches in diameter and stands 5 inches tall. Three-eights inch holes were drill and plug with walnut dowel. Finish is two coats DO and sever coats of wipe-on poly, buffed and waxed.

Vase and base

Description}: Vase is turned from a piece of yellowwood with little grain or color. Vase was bleached twice then sealed with a light rose paint. Sanded to 6 hundrec before buffing with white diamond and wax. The inside of the vase is dyed with a crimson dye. The neck was carved to remove a crack. The dye was allow to bleed through the crack in the base. A leaf was textured beginning at the crack and dye crimson alluding to new life. The stand is a piece of scuptured curly maple. The base was given a light coat of red umber translucent paint. The crimson dye was allowed to run down the valleys to give the allusion that the vase had leak and ran down the contoured base. Buffed with white diamond and wax. Vase is 5 by 8.5 inches and base is just under 8 by 12 inches. Credit goes to Bill Neddow for the inspiration for this piece.

Description}: Pentagon shape mirror frame turned from a piece of wild cherry crotch. Piece is just over 12 inches wide and 10 tall. Mirror is 8 inches in diameter. Two bands of turquoise are inlaid in the rim. Finish is wipe on poly.
