Doug Miller

Description}: Sea Urchin ornament. This is a first for me. Over height is 3 1/2" tall. The width is approximately 1 3/4". Cap is turned from Manzanita (sp). The icicle is maple. Finished with a dip into GF's Woodturners Finish. Some have been asking about weight. I'm sorry but I have no way of weighing these. It is barely noticeable in your hand. All comments and critiques are welcome.

6 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10258&title=2011-secret-santa-ornament&cat=694 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10258&title=2011-secret-santa-ornament&cat=694 Sun, 27 Nov 2011 12:59:27 +0000 Snowman

by: Bob Hamilton

Description}: This is my ornament for the 2011 Secret Santa C&T. His body is ash, his hat is mahogany. The dowel that connects them is birch. His body (not head) has been hollowed to under 1/4" wall thickness. Suspended from the through dowel that holds him together there are six small bells on beading wire in his body cavity, so he jingles when shaken. He was sanded to 400, Pencil buffed, sprayed with clear rattle-can lacquer (three coats), and carnauba waxed. He's a little heavy for an ornament, 2 1/2 ounces, but should do fine on a lower branch. He will jingle to warn you of pets molesting the tree.

3 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10220&title=2011-c-amp-t-snowman-ornament&cat=694 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10220&title=2011-c-amp-t-snowman-ornament&cat=694 Mon, 21 Nov 2011 22:11:58 +0000 Box elder and duno ornament.

by: Robert_Harper

Description}: The whole thing is about 9" long.
