As I approached my final wall thickness I had some checks appear in the end grain faces, either from the heat generated while cutting or simply from the end grain drying too suddenly when it got thin. I decided to inlay some disks of contrasting woods to cover the checks. The inlay pieces are white ash, honey locust and maple.

5 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=11032&title=summer-2014-cube-challenge-amp-trade&cat=723 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=11032&title=summer-2014-cube-challenge-amp-trade&cat=723 Sun, 20 Jul 2014 03:01:41 +0000 Bais cube bowl

by: JimQuarles

Description}: Big Leaf Maple Burl (or so I was told)

3 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=11031&title=bais-cube-bowl&cat=723 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=11031&title=bais-cube-bowl&cat=723 Sun, 20 Jul 2014 01:21:46 +0000 Mulberry tri-form box from a cube

by: Tony Rozendaal

Description}: This was a challenge, sure enough, in more ways than one.
