About Me
I am self taught in almost everything I've done and continue to do. I got into turning by my family prodding me into taking up something that produces smaller objects than boats. One of my uncles was a turner and has passed it on to all of his children and many of his grand children. Unfortunately, I'd just taken up turning and was about a few weeks away from having something to show him when he died of a heart attack.
He would make what they called burger flippers when he was given wood. I don't make flippers very often but I always give a few pieces back to people who give me free wood to keep up the tradition. I often think of him while I turn, thinking that I've become, in my small way, part of his legacy.
