Loads of fun to turn since I haven't turned a goblet in a long time. Thought I had some negative pressure on the stem as I turned it, but the further I got from the tail stock, the more vibration I got. No problems though, I got through it without breaking it. This was the first for the Woodturners finish. I think I like it. A couple of more time using it and I'll be able to tell more about it. Questions, comments, and critiques are welcome always. Sorry about the cruddy pic. I'll try to get a better one when I get back home in a few days. 8^)
Not a skew touched this piece. I used my Thompson 3/8" bowl gouge almost exclusively on this one. Only exception was on the inside of the bowl where I used my Ci0 for a couple of passes and my Ci4m at the flairs at each end of the stem. One tip for your attempt, I never turned the lathe off once I started the stem. Would have snapped it for sure just trying to start the motor up. Sure was fun. 8^)
