Sea Urchin ornament. This is a first for me. Over height is 3 1/2" tall. The width is approximately 1 3/4". Cap is turned from Manzanita (sp). The icicle is maple. Finished with a dip into GF's Woodturners Finish. Some have been asking about weight. I'm sorry but I have no way of weighing these. It is barely noticeable in your hand. All comments and critiques are welcome.
I already know that the photo is crummy. Due to circumstances beyond my control I had to take a quick pic on my cell phone. Sorry about that. It really is a lot nicer in person with a lovely pink cast in the urchin shell. 8^)
Thanks guys. BTW, Choice Woods has these right now. They don't normally last long. Very popular item. Although it doesn't look like it, this is one of the pink sea urchin shells. They are pretty thin so there isn't a lot of flattening that you can do with them. One thing you can do is to crush them. This was the second shell with this top and bottom. Crushed the first shell between my thumb and index finger. So fragile. 8^)
