Man, looking at this turning brought a flood of emotion for me.

First, it was excitement, knowing i almost was the owner of this magnificent piece of art.

Then came the dissapointment knowing it's not going to be mine.

Then came the relief. Knowing that was i was working on looked very very elementary in comparison. kc, you woulda got the short end of the stick.

Absolutely beautiful piece!!!!!!!

I really gotta step my game up for the next challenge.

Jim, one of your best. You did a very fine job on this one. I have said often that I'm not a fan of finials, but this one works. The size and design are perfect for this piece. No contradictions, no fighting for what part is more important, no being a separate "add-on" that looks just kind of stuck on. Super job. 8)

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. And Doug brings up an important matter that we all strive for: the business of every aspect of a piece working with all of the others. Its all part of the question of proportion I think; something that I harp on too frequently...
