George, can you move the outrigger? Do you have different outriggers for different hollowing depths?
The one I'm making is basically the same but I haven't figured out how to make the outrigger movable. I tried set screws but the tool spun in the outrigger bracket. Seeing yours gave me another idea. Thanks, Bud
Are we mature gentlemen inventive, or what?

I'm showing the outrigger hollowing tools I use on the semi hollow form. I can move the outriggers on the John Lea tool on top of the lathe and the John Jordan tool laying aroung the tool banjo. The tool inside the hollow is by Al Basham and is fixed. The round outriggers made by BCT tools and are from Packard. Out riggers help resist the torque and reduce catches of course your tool rest needs to be long enough for them. I also have a 16" tool rest not shown. For deeper hollow turning I have the Kelton setup but will still use outriggers where ever possible. GT
