Looks great to me Tom, nice effect with the rings and vertical grain.

Gorgeous piece Tom. If I may, how did you seal the edges?

Thank you.
Kate, I sealed the edges by Drenching with a thinned polyurethane. That let it really soak in and adhere the charcoal. Subsequent coats built on that.

I thought of the name "Saturn's Nebula" Because the center kind of looks like Saturn and the grain swirls look like a nebula, not that Saturn actually has a nebula!

I love olive wood and the effects it has on any turning. The flatness of this piece adds to the illsionary effect that the rings produce as the grain swirlls back anf forth. Very nice. 8)

BTW, does anyone else see the wave that has either a surf board or a seal caught up in the back of the wave? Turn you head to the left and see if you don't see it. Then again, since I just got home from Florida I could be dreaming about getting back to the FL beaches in a couple of years.

Very interesting looking wall hanging, and beautiful wood too.
Yes, Doug, I see the jaw and eye of a biggie plesiosaur in the crest of a wave.
