My 12 yr old son's first bowl. I am so proud I can't stand it.
4 1/8" x 1 3/4", finished with tung oil. Cedar salvaged from my uncle's farm after hurricane Rita.
He carefully designed, turned, sanded and finished it. I supervised, but did not touch ( Dad it's MY bowl!).
I may never get to use my lathe again.
You should be proud, good job to our newest woodturner! I am mostly amazed at the finish quality, more often than not young lads don't have the patience to follow through to the perfect finish. Nice work dad.
Thanks for all of the great comments. They have really encouraged our new turner. And, YES I should be recieving shipment of a new Jet Mini any day. Seemed like a good fit for a young turner, as I can also mount it at a lower height than my Jet 16". Thanks to the guys on the tool threads I found a great bargain. This site has been great, proud to be a member.
