Thanks! I applied 3 coats of lacquer and rubbed out with steel wool.

Two pieces. Is the join in the texturing? I can see the grain difference between the top and bottom. I guess you glued it there huh? Beautiful work. I especially like the darker contrast at the carving and texturing.

Yes, the joint is in the center of the texturing. Although the glue line was not noticable, I wanted to seperate the 2 different grain patterns. Carving and texturing was a way for me to spice up an ordinary piece of wood. I would not do this much to an exotic or burl.
