Very nice shape. No finish!?? Wow! Is that because mesquite has so much pitch? Had a yard full of those trees when we lived in Texas. Wish I had one now. Great job! What about the degree of difficulty in turning that stuff?

Kid, Mesquite is a pure joy to turn. One of my favorites. Turns really easy and is relatively stable as it dries. It can have lots of voids and inclusions. Don't know if that's a pro or a con.
