Just a chunk of my black locust stock I have laying around. I made this for my 6 yr old who asks for a piece from time to time. Found a couple of limb inclusions and a bit of burl as well. Pretty cool piece of wood actually.
About 4 1/2" tall x 4" diameter. Approx. 1/8" thick top to bottom
Finish is thinned lacquer wash followed by tung oil finish and Beall buffing
I really enjoy turning locust. Seems to turn well and finishes up well. I've not had any trouble with it at all. All mine is dry as a bone. Maybe that's the difference. 8-)
We may have to talk about it a bit more later. I'll be sure to put this info in the back of my mind and maybe I can recall it at a proper time to see what we can work out. 8-)
