"My Grain" Vase with un-natural "naturnal rim."

This is a piece I turned out of a green oak stump. The grain was fantastic. I used a dremmel to follow one of the grain lines to create the rim.

This is pretty cool, what is the size of it and the grain is beautiful like you said, well done.

I'd like to see a larger photo of it though.

It is about a foot tall at its tallest point. It's also about 6" in diameter at its widest. The grain looks tactile, but it is baby-butt smooth. This has been one of the first pieces I've turned that I've wanted to share with others. I've made giveaway bowls and snack bowls for my kids, but this was a project.

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. I'm planning on digging around in the easment of my back yard for some more pieces and perhaps doing a series of these...some with perhaps more drastic lines. That's usually when I blow things out...LOL.
