A pretty nice piece of wood to begin with. You did a very good job of turning and finishing it. I like the use of the wire wheel as well. I don't know why I thought a wire wheel wood be too soft to do much of a texturing job. Now I know it will and I will use it. Thank you for being a part of the C&T. 8)
Larry, you have created a fine bowl! The wire wheel texturing is a great idea, and the contour and finish are excellent. I love that honey brown Maple color.
That's a great idea for texturing. I wish I had thought of that. I don't have a texturing tool and everything I tried seemed to just make a mess of things. That looks really good witht he contrasting color too.
Beautiful bowl Larry. The finish looks first rate and the bit of darkining on the rim really adds to the overall effect. Great to see your work again. Gary

Nice bowl Larry, I did the same on my rim with a 50mm wire brush but couldnt pick it up in a photo. You need a new brush as an old one used on steel is polished and has no sharp cutting edge left and just creates heat.
