6"D x 1"H pecan. Used a flat blade screwdriver to burn the rim circles. was a bit upset that the circles are not quite evenly spaced, thought I had marked them more carefully. My wife calls this my flying saucer dish.
Thanks Gil. When I started this bowl, I didn't have a clue about what I was going to do, but as I started cutting it just sort of poppped out like this. Funny how that works.
A fine piece of work, Phil. I like the pecan and how it worked up for you. Rings may be a bit uneven, but I'm not sure I would have paid it a bit of attention had I not been told that they were off. Looks pretty good to me. 8)
Philip, Your wife named my first thought looking at your plate. It looks like it wants to take off from the table and the rings on the inverted rim give it a feeling of movement. Very cool effect.
