plate 8" x 2"
segmented rim using (from bottom right to top left)teak (i think),birch, elm ,spallted elm,and an unknown.
on the base there is oak and some more teak(i think).
i hope u all like it, especially u bill!
but don't hold back in giving me some hints!
thanks a lot
yes my first laminated piece for me
nappen- a used the titebond "dark" glue, and i don't really like it, so i think i'll have to get some of the other titebond
i'm working on some better pics just now i'll have them done in a mo.
This is a neat way to show off different types of woods, especially on a nice wide area of the rim. Good work, Roo.

15 are ya,lad? Puttin' some of older folks to task, are ya? You're gonna be a fine wood turner but don't neglect your education. You canna nay have too many degrees even if you don't use'um directly.
Ruaridh, I am glad that you entered this C&T. Your plate looks very nice. The combination of woods, and their colors, is well done. The bead on the inner rim is just right.
Very nice piece Roo! One of the things I like about laminated and segmented pieces is how the straight glue lines become curved lines once the piece is turned. Good job.
