This was a large chunk of Honey Locust that was dried forever (since 1942 anyway), took forever to shape and forever to sand. Quite a challenge. About 13" dia., finished with Tung Oil. It was bought 2 days after putting it in a local shop. Hopefully, it will last the new owner "forever".
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome. Don L.
I'd put it in an exhibition with anyone else's work. Wonderful. I also bet you are right. If they take halfway good care of it, it will last forever. 8-)
Fantastic as usual!!
I would sell myself to learn half of your skill. I can live on table scraps, you don't even have to talk to me, just let me watch. What more can I say.
Thanks so much guys!
I've never had another turner in my shop, or been in someone else's. I would LOVE to find another turner around northern North Carolina and trade some shop time. My doc wants me to stay away from large crowds (because of the cancer thing), and that's why I haven't joined a club yet. A few people are fine as long as they don't have a cold or flew. Anybody out there?:] I'd love to see another guy's (or girls!) shop and trade some secrets.
Thanks again, you guys are great! Don L.
Be careful Don. The last time a party was mentioned there were about 10 or 12 of us that showed up. Jim Q came all the way from AZ to Southern IN just to hang out with the gang. We even had members pop up that had not been heard from in a really long time. Just saying, ...
