Gambel Oak HF

This is turned from Gambel Oak, roughed about mid October and finished the day after Christmas. I was really hoping it might hold up even though it's oak. But no such luck. It has already warped enough that the lid won't fit and is developing some small cracks around the opening. But I took a pic before it distorted. The finial is walnut ebonized with black ink. It's about 5" x 9"

thats great!!! my wife was standing over my shoulder when i clicked on the picture she was mid sentence and stopped dead to say "OOOOOOOHHHHHHH make it now go make it now" I think she liked it to great work
