Thanks for your observations and kind words, guys. This is the (you guessed it) the 10th in the series. (And I expect there will be more.) The design objective was to create the illusion of mass floating in space. The finial was inspired by Cindy Drozda's signature design, but as you can tell, it is somewhat different what with the acorn motif turned into the base and the three-tiered "roof" at the top. While I feel that things came together with with this one, I have some ideas I want to try in succeeding pieces. We'll see how it goes.....

BTW, I demo'd the turning technique to the Lehigh Valley Woodturners back in January and would be delighted to do a demo for your club, if anyone has an interest.
