I understand hand chasing is hard to learn..so it makes it even more intersting you mastered that skill. I have seen a few articles recently, where a resin is chased, when the wood is not hard/dense enough. Very cool, thanks for sharing this
I only started thread chasing seriously, approximately 8mths ago, after watching a demonstration at a local woodturning centre, but i had bought the tools two years previously and didn`t have much success. Now i find it so addictive, all the boxes i turn have screwthreads.
Very nice box! Been looking for some lignum vitae myself, but all I've been able to find is verawood... Its pretty, and smells like perfume, but it turns green FAST and just ain't lignum
