Love the worm holes. I've got a couple I've done a while ago that the beetles that killed the tree turned the growth ring into lace. Love it.

Very nice. Love the contrast in colors. Not sure I've seen pecan that was that light in the sap wood before. No matter, it gave you a great pallet to work with. 8^)

I also did a hf from the same log, it has worm holes going all the way around the outside at the wider points, natures piercing!
Doug, this came from a 90 year old pecan tree, the larger pieces I got were about 36" diameter and even the big pieces are light like this one. There is some darker heartwood but it's hit and miss.
Tom, worm training is a trade secret, if I told you, I'd have to kill you lol.
