The person in this video speaks German, but you should get the idea how the tool works

In the second video. The tool looks very, very, versitile. It also looks like it could kill you if you do not use it properly. the cork screw design looks as if it would catch in a heartbeat with one wrong move. Very interesting video. Thanks Ron.

Its not prone to catch.

If you hold the tool wrong it just skates across the wood instead of catching

It looks like it works much similar to a bench plane. Also that what a vase should look like but I don't have the hear(or the nerve)to take out so much wood. The best bowl I made was a mistake in making the edge so thin but when I hollowed out the rest of the bowl it looked very nice. Plus it takes a lot of skill to turn wood than thin, maybe some day...
I wonder if these tools are really easer than a bowl gouge,if it can't catch it would be for me.

Thanks Ron. It just looks like death on a stick, but looks can be deceiving. Looks like a nice tool to have in ones arsenal. Like I said, very interesting.

Thanks for posting Ron.  I finally see what I was missing in my hooks.  I was making them straight because I couldn't figure one thing out, but I see it now...

Very impressive. Only question I have is how you go about sharpening it?
