more people voted on my new lathe poll that was up for 3 days than voted here... sad. or maybe it's just some people don't always look in the other forums than turning talk and tool talk.

I think more to the point is that there is a small handfull that participate in challenges and trades. I'm sure those who would participate have voted. I don't have any prized wood so I don't think a wood trade from me is fair.

I do love the turning challenges though.

Low actuall participation on these on line forums and clubs is very normal. Most people just read what they are interested in and pass through. I don't have a problem with it. I recognize it as just how it works in the "real" world.

I know im about a month late on this but after meeting Zack Morgan today at a show and learning about these wood trades i too would be interested in participating. Like Mr Harper i dont have any award winning wood laying around or that i can obtain, but it would be interesting to see what other people have in their area that they can source locally.

Christopher I would say you would enjoy a wood trade very much. It doesn't take an award winning piece or a piece from a far off country. Your local wood may be quite interesting or new for your trade partner and that is what I would like to imply by my participation in the trades. Jump in on the next one  smiley=thumbsup.gif
