I didn't make it.  Sorry.  Still going to see if I can make what I wanted to do work out, hopefully in the next day or two.

Obviously at this point I am OUT, I shed blood sweat and no tears but the frustration level became extremely high.

All I can say is I have large bucket full of mahogany splinters and shavings and 5 chunks of wood that just did not turn out ... I don't know if it is the wood, my lack of experience with this wood or a combination of both.

I think my best lesson for something like this would be K.I.S.S.

All of you that completed and posted in the gallery, VERY well done and I think your pieces are awesome.

Someday I hope to be able post along side your turnings.

Sorry I could not finish

Dennis, fear not, there will be another C&T with a different theme. With these C&T's, the challenge part is different for everyone, and not necessarily the turning portion. For myself the challenge part was to attempt to "lighten up" the clunky look of a cube. I had a feeling many would opt for the triangular style, so I wanted to go a different direction With my entry, I now have many ideas swimming around my head about inserts, lamination's and so on. That's one of the big pay-offs for me, (what it sparks) as well as seeing what the others come up with.
I am curious what you were trying to create that caused the mishaps for you if you don't mind describing it, maybe we can help.

I wish we had had more people participating, but we have some great pieces being traded.  My "Rogue's Gallery" is still growing.

The pairings were done using Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.  The partners are:

Bob Hamilton  <>  Ed Weber
Bert Delisle  <>  Tony Rozendaal
Tim Thompson  <>  Jim Quarles

Send a PM to your partner with your mailing address.  Try to get them in the mail by Saturday.  If this is your first time sending a finished piece, do NOT start off with bubble wrap.  First wrap it in paper towel or cloth.  Bubble wrap WILL stick to the finish.

Ed & Tony, Since you are shipping to Canada, you will need to go to the PO and fill in a Form CN 22.  I understand that this can be done online when you pay for your postage online, but I have not done any that way to explain the process.  If you try it online, the boxes will need the same information as the paper form.

Check the box for Gift
Description (1) = Wooden Craft
Qty (2) = 1
Weight (3) = estimate of package weight or leave blank until you get to the PO
Value (4) = 00.
HS Tariff (5) = blank
Exemption (7) = Check first box NOEEI 30.37(a)
Print your name and address and then Recipient’s.
Sign and date (8)

Most contract stations (in gift shops etc) will not accept or even have Form CN 22, so you will need to go to a regular PO.

Thank you all for participating.

Bert's is in the mailbox.  I did the label electronically and printed it out here at home.  We'll see how that works out.

Thanks to Jim for the good advice on how to fill out the online USPS form.

I am still trying to finish mine.  The idea seemed so simple when I thought of it, who knew it would turn out to be so complicated.
