I have talked a lot about this tool, and finally here is a video about how to make it. I will get around to doing a clip on a friend who is a master of this tool.

I couldn't catch the type of metal you welded on.  Do you have source.

edit:  found a source for Tantung but they demand large quantities.

There is a link to AG Wesson company in Florida on the clip. I talked to them and they said they can whole sale, or sell individual pieces. Stellite is harder to find.
