Finish for redwood burl

Have a couple of nice blocks of redwood burl I will turn into bowls.  What is you preferred finish for redwood?  Something that does not make it real dark and kill the grain.

I see no one has gotten back to you.
Water based finishes are clear and therefore don't darken the wood.
Oil based finishes do a good job of enhancing the grain but can be too anber/yellow for some.
I can't really give you a good answer, only to experiment on some scrap.
