Wow very nice !!! Did you use a router to carve the shape ? And also can you reveal a little bit about your staining technique? Did you use minwax water based stains? Very nice piece !

Not a router. started with a reciprocating carver then various bits on a Foredom and then a lot of sanding. The finish is wire brushed then aniline dye to color then three light coats of lacquer then liming wax then several final coats of lacquer.
