Has anyone else seen the episode where Tom Silva makes a segmented bowl?  It's a nice segment, but they sure downplayed several things.  One thing he did that I hadn't seen before was using zip ties instead of rubber bands or hose clamps during the glue up.  Of course he used a zip tie gun which every woodworker has in their arsenal.

Some people are like slinkies... totally worthless but it puts a smile on your face when you push them down the stairs.

I'll have to look that one up.
Typically on those shows, they show just enough to get you in trouble. There's never quite enough time to explain things in an depth.

Well, as far as a 14 minute video goes, it wasn't too bad.
It would definitely give people a place to start, and as usual, Tom doesn't use anything he doesn't need to, keeping the whole process as simple as it ca be.
