Bandsaw jig to split rings

Does anyone have a design for a jig to split rings on a band saw. I sometimes make a ring out of taller segments with the plan to cut the ring in half on the lathe with a parting tool. I do this to make two of the same vessel, to allow easier clamping, or to have multiple thinner rings.

I just use a piece of melamine and double stick tape.

Good idea. I was wanting to cut whole rings and afraid double stick tape my not be strong enough for a roundish ring.

With whole rings, put a wedge or block in the front of the ring to keep it from rotaing down as the blade cuts
