Acorn boxes with carved cap

I've been making these acorn boxes, and I usually just run a Wagner tool over the cap to texture it, but on this last one I used my flexible rotary shaft tool to carve the cap. Pretty happy with the way it came out. The cap is threaded.

Cap is black walnut and bottom is lilac.

You should be very happy with the result.

Just curious, any thought somr  time to making the grooves and cap bottom have some irregularity?

I'm pretty much left brained (I think). I think I understand what you are asking but any time in the past I have tried unstructured enhancements they pretty much end up in the discard pile. So, yes, I have considered it but don't know where to start. This acorn actually doesn't look anything like I had envisioned it. At one point I thought I had screwed it up beyond redemption. When it got to where I could live with it, and when the spouse said "That's really beautiful!" I quit.  Grin

Nice project, looks good but I'm thinking the same thing as Don asked.
Nature is rarely symmetrical, a little irregularity (wabi-sabi) goes a long way.
