WTB - Longworth chuck disks

I'm looking for a pair of pre-cut longworth chuck disks, 12"-14" in diameter. Preferably in Baltic Birch plywood.

Thanks

Appreciate you're probably not looking for a 'high end' version but I did find this site which seems to have some nice Longworth as well as other things.

Good luck...

Thanks for your input

But I don't think either would work because of the way they are mounted to a scroll chuck.

My wife bought a potters wheel and I'm thinking of installing the longworth chuck to the wheel head (12" rotating disk that you put the clay on) so both sides needs to be flat. Also the bumpers will need to be different as well.

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to build a jig so I can make the pair myself.

I have Ron Brown's large 14" Longworth chuck.  I have used it for several years.  However, I did find that did not run true.  Probably should have returned it but never did.  I not use the large 14" Cole jaw on my Super Nova II and on my Nova Talon.  I am much happier with it than I am with the Longworth chuck.

If you want a good deal on my Longworth chuck Ron, I'd give you one.

The link I posted is for a guy that makes the disks out of Baltic Birch plywood. He cuts the disk to the diameter requested, cuts the slots and then the mount. I bought two chucks from him, different sizes, and the first one he cut and slotted. I bought the bumpers and mounted using a bolt. The second one he cut everything, added bumpers and cut the chuck mount. Both were made to order.

Take a peak at LLoyd Johnson's at woodturnerpro.com.  Might work for what you want.

Huh, I didn't go there before I posted the link. I know he is, or was, selling on Facebook; I'll see if I can contact him.

Ron, I recently bought a 20 inch Longworth chuck from a guy on Ebay. His name is Norm and I was very pleased with the quality of the product and the grade of plywood he used. He cuts everything using a CNC machine. All I have is his email through Ebay but I bet he could help you.

You could find him by searching for Longworth chucks on Ebay and look for storminnorman1953.

His FB page is still there, but he hasn't posted on almost a year. I don't know what the story is.

I used this for trimming ceramic vases and pitchers.  Worked well.

Thanks Larry, I know of the Griffin Grip. Is it as flimsy in life as it looks in the pictures?
