The only thing I can say as a critique would be what was told to me the first time I made a vessel like that.
The sides are too straight.
It seems that many people like a long gentle, subtle curve in the walls rather than a straight profile. It has the effect of making the piece look "lighter" and slimming up the base.

The only other thing I would suggest is to stagger the padauk from the blue gum. I know that's easier said than done but the look you get typically frames or defines your stave portion better. A blue gum insert in the lid can also add a little enhancement.
Just some suggestions.
