Hemp seed oil

This past weekend I stopped into Woodcraft because I needed walnut oil for rolling pins.   The clerk asked me if I had tried Hemp Seed Oil.  Said it was like walnut oil but dried faster - 1 day versus a month & was cheaper (woo woo  $20 vs $23 for a pint).   I stuck with what I know, but wondered if anyone here has ever used it.

Well, that is a new one for me. Maybe ask on the AAW site.

I went looking and found some that Real Milk
Paint Co is selling.  Theirs is all natural, and say that it takes from 7-10 days for a partial cure and 15-30 days for a full cure.   Looked at the MSDS for the woodcraft oil and it states it is also "all natural" and has no driers added, so it may "feel" dry after a day, but probably won't cure any faster than walnut oil.

The MSDS  states the color as green/yellow, which is consistent with the description from Real Milk Paint that states the color will vary based on growing conditions and harvest timing.   Depending on the wood you would apply it to, the slight color difference may not matter, but that variable is not something I'd want.

I think I'd stick with the walnut oil.

I use hemp oil, never had any issues with it.
What do you want to know?

Is it really pure so you could ingest it or rub it on sore joints?

Water resistant?  Food safe?
