I took this quiz, no cheating or googling the answers.
I just ran through it, only takes a couple of minutes. I got 31 out of 35.
One answer I would strongly protest but it is what it is.

I also got 31 out of 35.

One I hit the answer too quickly another never heard of the answer.

Which answer would you protest strongly?

Yeah, I chose Teak as well..being around boats and such up here.
I jumped the gun on the type of glue.

..and no idea what a Granny's tooth was.

31, also said teak. Depends on definition of HARDwood too. Balsa is a Hardwood.  Roll Eyes

I work with Redwood a lot and still said Teak just for the Maritime relationship.

Balsa also got me  Embarrassed
You think balsa, you think soft.
I think Yew, I think Bow for shooting arrows

I also missed the sandpaper question about ceramic, garnet, etc.
and lastly I missed the one about who was called the Hemingway of hardwood, not a freaking clue.
And who calls him that anyway  Undecided

OK, got 30 out of 35. Missed the types of nails, wood veneer (can't you have the veneer of softwood?), missed "Hemmingway", Granny tooth, wood grade. Thought select was better than FAS.  I would have thought a granny tooth would be a rasp, not a router.

I got 30\35.

I had no idea who the TV boat guy was and what it had to do with woodworking. I've never heard of or seen the show.

Yes you can
That's another I wasn't a fan of.

You can also turn softwood into hardwood, Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Also got 31/35. Missed the ones with peoples names. Never heard of anyone being called the Hemingway of hardwood. Also missed the TPI one. Have been doing some threading and tapping last few days and immediately thought of threads per inch.

Side note, I broke a 10-32 tap and went to HD to get another. They have almost stopped selling taps. They had one each of four different sizes on the wall. Plus a couple small sets. They had a 10-32 so I was okay, but the other three sizes were oddballs. One being a 7mm something.

That was an interesting read on your Lignia link Ed.

If you follow the links to the Yacht page, the boat builders compare it to teak.

Joe, good idea seeing as how this season might be the last.

It's been on for 18 seasons.

The Gibbs boat in the basement is the ongoing "Gag" of sorts..how does he get it out of there.

Suddenly, the basement is empty and he is starting another boat, yet there is no visible way to get it out of there. Shocked
