My old Makita 12 inch is still running and the blades are sharp.  But...the table will not go all the way up so that I can only plane down to 3/4".  Have tried for a long time to fix it but cannot find the problem.

So...I bought a almost new Makita 12NB on eBay and it is perfect.  I like it because it is small enough for me to move around in the shop.  No snipe and it is fairly quiet.  All I have planed so far is some glued up easter red cedar panels.  It sure did a smooth job on them.

Some people are like slinkies... totally worthless but it puts a smile on your face when you push them down the stairs.
