Curious how others finish epoxy-wood turnings. I plan to do an epoxy inlay in the bottom of a segmented bowl and need advice. Thanks!

Wat type of finish do you want on the remainder of the bowl?

My once turned bowls occasioally have one or more small voids I fill with two tube epoxy I buy at a local hardware store, both 5 min and 2 hour, and after sanding I wipe on several coats of good quality poly thinned with good quality mineral spirits.  Haven't had problems.  But by all means experiment once or twice on sample inlay using your epoxy of choice.

No one's asked but if you're considering an epoxy bottom like the river  style tabletops, cutting boards, etc.,  then you'd want to sand up through ultra high grits and polishes.  Since it's epoxy I wouldn't know why you would need to put a finish like polyurethane on it.
